Autumn/Winter

Boys:

• White shirt or polo shirt, maroon jumper or sweatshirt, grey tailored trousers or shorts, and black shoes.

Girls:

• White shirt or polo shirt, maroon jumper/cardigan or sweatshirt, grey skirt or pinafore dress, grey tailored trousers, maroon fleece and  black shoes.

Summer

Boys:

• White shirt or polo shirt, maroon jumper or sweatshirt, grey tailored trousers or shorts.

Girls:

• White blouse or polo shirt, maroon jumper/cardigan or sweatshirt, grey skirt or red summer dress striped or gingham, flat sandals (not strapless or backless).
• Socks should be worn.

PE Kit

• Navy Blue Tracksuit with School Logo, White T Shirt and Plain Trainers (no bright colours), or alternatively children can wear a plain navy blue tracksuit.
• Long hair must be tied back with a suitable bobble and no jewellery is to be worn.

Please make sure all clothing is clearly marked with your child’s name so that it can be returned if found. We collect lots of lost property each term. If something is lost it may be in the Classroom or in the School Office. If it isn’t there, please let the School Office or our Site Manager know.

For safety reasons children should not wear any jewellery in school. However if your child has pierced ears, small studs may be worn. These will need to be removed for P.E. lessons and if your child goes swimming.

A school meal is available. Please visit the School Meals section of our website for information regarding the cost of school meals and also to see a copy of the latest menu. School meals are free for children in Reception-Year 2. Payment for the week should be made online via MCAS.  

If you think that your child is entitled to free school meals, please speak to a member of staff in the School Office.

Water is available in the Dining Hall. Children are provided with a water bottle and can bring water into school to drink in the classroom during the day. Please make sure that the water bottle is labelled clearly with your child’s name. Water bottles may not be taken into the playground.

If your child is unwell then s/he should be kept at home. Please telephone school on 01204 333193 by 9.30am to let us know why your child is absent.

Unfortunately, sometimes children do have accidents or become unwell whilst they are at school and we need to call you. It can add to your child’s distress if we are unable to contact you. Please ensure that we have up to date contact telephone numbers for you and tell us straight away if these change.

Children should be in school by 8.45 a.m. It is important to make your child aware of the importance of punctuality by arriving on time every day.

Bring your child to school on time. Arriving late can mean that your child misses important information about the lesson. It can also be embarrassing for your child and is disruptive for the class.

School finishes at 3.15 p.m. Children in Nursery, Reception, Years 1 and 2 must be collected by a known adult. Please let the class teacher know if someone different from usual is collecting your child. Older children are permitted, with your agreement, to go home by themselves.

No. There is no parking available for Parents/Carers. Please park your car away from the school gates and never park on the yellow zig-zag lines. The area outside school becomes very congested and is then unsafe for children arriving and leaving school. Please park considerably.

We welcome Parents/Carers in school. If you would like to help, please let us know. Helping in school allows you to understand what your child is learning and how you can encourage your child to learn. It also extends a helping hand to a busy Teacher.

Reading folders can be purchased from the School Office and Smart Clothing and school bags can be purchased from Smart Clothing.

Teachers are more easily available at the end of the day when they have dismissed their classes, or if you would like an appointment for a longer chat please contact the School Office.

Recently we have offered Multi-Sports, Jewellery Making, Football, Netball, ICT and Sewing Clubs. Sometimes these are aimed at particular year groups.

Yes. Children are elected to the School Council by their class mates. The School Council meets regularly and discusses a range of issues.

We expect children to read at home every day. The children will also be expected to complete their ‘Learning Log’ homework which will be a range of activities that reinforce the work that has been covered in class that week.

We can meet a variety of special needs in school. Please discuss your child’s needs with the class teacher. The Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) Mrs Welsh will be happy to meet with you to discuss specific concerns.

We have many children in our school who are learning English. We have specialist staff who are available to help children in their acquisition of English as an additional language.

Ask for an appointment to talk to the class teacher about your concerns. If you are still anxious, please ask to see the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, the Deputy Headteacher or the Headteacher.
