Ofsted Report
We are delighted to share that St Thomas’ has been judged Strong in the majority of areas following our recent Ofsted inspection. Under Ofsted’s new framework, a judgement of Strong means that the school is performing above the standard expected nationally, demonstrating highly effective practice and positive outcomes for pupils.
We are particularly proud to be one of the first schools to be inspected under the new framework, making this recognition especially significant.
Inspectors judged St Thomas’ to be Strong in:
- Inclusion - Every child is known, valued and supported to achieve their full potential.
- Leadership and Governance - Leaders and governors have a clear vision and drive continual improvement for all pupils.
- Behaviour and Attendance - Pupils demonstrate positive attitudes to learning and attend school regularly.
- Early Years - Children receive an excellent start to their education in a nurturing and ambitious environment.
- Curriculum and Teaching - A well-planned curriculum and high-quality teaching help pupils learn and achieve well.
- Personal Development and Wellbeing - Pupils are supported to grow socially, emotionally, spiritually and academically.
Inspectors described St Thomas’ as “an oasis of calm” and recognised the dedication of leaders, governors and staff in providing the highest quality education and care. The report celebrates our commitment to ensuring that every child is known, valued and empowered to thrive.
We are incredibly proud of this achievement and thank our staff, governors, families, parish and wider community for their continued support.
Most importantly, we thank our wonderful pupils, whose enthusiasm, kindness and resilience make St Thomas’ such a special place to learn and grow.
